  • February 26, Buffalo, next Organizers' Network Planning Meeting, 7:30 PM, Rust Belt Books, 202 Allen, near but West of Elmwood, at 7:30 PM. Rust Belt Books will appear to be closed.   • February 21, Buffalo, Channel 7 -- AM Buffalo, Bill Marx Live Interview  Our own Bill Marx will be discussing his recent journey to Iraq on a Christian Peace-making Team with AM Buffalo's host, Linda Pellegrino.  The precise time of the interview is unknown but the program starts at 10:00 AM.

  • February 20, Buffalo, Buffalo State College, "Why War Now?" a panel discussion at the Student Assembly Hall, Campbell Student Union, on Thursday, February 20th from 12:15-1:30 PM, free and open to the public.  Sponsored by The Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies.  Panelists will include: Panelists will include Abdul Raoof, James Grunebaum and representatives from Students for Peace.

  • February 19, Buffalo, next Organizers' Network Planning Meeting, 5:15 PM, WNY Peace Center, 2123 Bailey Ave., near corner of Bailey and Genesee, park across Bailey in the lot in front of the oriental restaurant.  If the door is locked, the bell is high on the inside of the outer door-jam.  Call 894-2013 for help with directions or email organizers@BuffaloPeacePeople.org.  Primary agenda items are 1) War Emergency Response Plan for WNY and 2) Possible massive demonstrations on 3/1 and bus organizing if so.

  • February 18, Buffalo, UB Faculty and Staff for Peace Panel Discussion: "The Evil Axis?" - panelists will include Steven Sharrif, President of Iraqi House, Norallah Talebi, an Iranian Professor at Daemen College, and Byongjin Han, a South Korean political science doctoral candidate at UB.  The discussion will be at Hochstetter Hall 114, North Campus, University at Buffalo from 5:00-6:50 PM.  It is free, open to the public, and jointly sponsored by UB Faculty and Staff for Peace, The UB Newman Center, and the UB Student Peace Movement.  See the on-line flyer for more details.

  • February 15, Buffalo, Bill Marx Returns From Iraq, Expected arrival via United Flight 7832 leaving Wash/Dulles 9:20 PM Feb 15 arriving Buffalo at 10:40 PM.   • February 15, Buffalo, Solidarity Anti-War Protest - Elmwood & Bidwell, 2:00 PM.  Thousands of activists will converge upon New York City on February 15th to protest the war, including many from WNY. In fact cities all over the world will be participating in the single largest anti-war mobilization EVER! Buffalo will also be participating! ON Feb 15th at 2pm in Bidwell Park (corner of Elmwood and Bidwell) there will be a local rally. If you CANNOT go to New York City for the national protest please be at the local demonstration. It is critical to get our voice out now and show that buffalo has joined the ever growing cresendo against war!  See WNYPC announcement.  Also see preliminary call.

  • February 14, Buffalo/NYC, Busses leave Buffalo for NYC anti-war demonstrations.  Departure at 10:30 PM  from UB South Campus Park and Ride lot with early Sunday morning return.  Details will be posted as soon as available. See the WNY Peace Center announcement and the IAC/ANSWER announcement.

  • February 14, Buffalo, Poetry Reading & Demonstration - February 14th at 12:00 noon SUNY at Buffalo's Student Union, North Campus 2nd Floor Social Hall (above lobby), a public reading as demonstration of opposition to Bush's intended war on Iraq. The reading will be compiled and read by participants and will describe the lives of people who have set before themselves as their chief aim the opposition of evil.  See announcement for further details.

  • February 4, Buffalo, Anti-War protest and Court Date for Arrested Protestors, Tuesday, Feb 4th at 9:00 am Buffalo City Court (corner of Delaware and Niagara Sq.)  The three Buffalo protestors  arrested for civil disobedience last Tuesday have their first court date on Tuesday, Feb 4th.  WE NEED PEOPLE IN THE COURT ROOM AND OUTSIDE THE BUILDING TO SUPPORT THEM AND FURTHER OUR MESSAGE!!!!!  We need all of you there. Bring a friend and a sign!  The court date will be highly significant because on February 5th the UN security council meets to discuss a possible war.  We need to continue to get the message of peace and justice out there.  PLEASE ENCOURAGE EVERYONE WHO CAN TO TAKE PART--- AND BRING A SIGN! NO WAR ON IRAQ!
