From: "IAC Buffalo" To: "WNY Activists" Subject: INFO for BUS RIDERS to MARCH in WASHINGTON Jan18 Date: Sunday, January 12, 2003 8:16 PM WHERE THE BUSES WILL BE ----------------------- The buses will be at the UB (State University of New York at Buffalo) South Campus, off Main Street, near the intersection with Kenmore Ave ---across from the University Plaza (shopping plaza). They'll be in the NFTA's PUBLIC PARK & RIDE PARKING LOT, which you enter from Main St, and turn into the left-hand lot. This parking lot is NOT the TRANSIT STATION/BUS CIRCLE, which is brightly lighted and is nearby. If you use the NYS Thruway to get to Buffalo from south of the city, take exit 50 to the MAIN STREET WEST TO BUFFALO exit, and go about 4 miles on Main St to the UB campus. Coming to Buffalo from the east on the Thruway, the exit for the 290 will bring you directly to the Main St WEST exit. Route 5 West will also take you to UB's South Campus. ----------------------------------------------- | THE BUSES WILL LEAVE AT 11:00 PM FRIDAY NIGHT | ----------------------------------------------- WHAT TO BRING WITH YOU ---------------------- FOR THE BUS TRIP: You can leave things (not valuables) on the bus, so you may want to bring pillow or blanket. Maybe also a change of shoes or socks for after the march. Food to share with others on the bus is good. You will need money for the two meals we'll take at restaurants, and for snacks, phone calls etc. Or you'll need a cooler with your own food instead. Please carry ID and similar essentials. FOR THE MARCH & RALLY: A light day-pack, so you can add or take off clothes during the day. Water bottles! Comfortable walking shoes/boots. A small cheap camera. MAKE SIGNS to bring if you can. WEATHER ------- So far, the weather forecast is for cold and fair (no precipitation!) -- cold meaning in the 30's. RETURN TO BUFFALO ----------------- The buses will leave Washington around 6pm. We'll know the exact time before we get OFF the bus at the rally. This means that if the weather permits, we'll get back to Buffalo around 3am. Please make arrangements for your ride home before we get back to Buffalo!
