Concerned about war with Iraq?

Then join your colleagues for discussion and planning.

Organizing Meeting
Monday, January 13, 2003, 4:30-6:30 PM
Capen 31

Co-Hosted by UB Faculty & Staff and
The UB Newman Center

A few of us UB faculty and staff have begun talking about the idea of forming some sort of campus-based group dedicated to discussion and public education regarding the current world situation, particularly the threat of war with Iraq.  We have the impression that many of our colleagues share our concerns, and might like to contribute in some way to encouraging more fully informed public discussion, but lacking any ready forum for the expression of their concerns, are unsure what, if anything, they might do.  We're inviting others we think may be interested, including yourself, to a meeting to discuss informally whether such an organization should be formed, and if so, what its nature should be.  We'd like to be clear that at this point no organization has been established, and you're not being asked to adopt any fixed positions already formulated by others.  We're simply attempting to convene a gathering of potential participants, in order to initiate open discussion of what might be done and who might be interested in taking part.
