The Open Source Weekend
[This represents an excellent opportunity to network with IT workers while
trying to recruit some to help with our collective work for peace. The
Open Source crowd, particularly developers, may be much more likely than many IT
sectors to include empathizers and we all badly need volunteers with
professionally honed IT skills. Thanks to VN for spotting this. --

FYI
Dear GoodWork Subscriber,
Here is an upcoming conference of interest not only to computer professionals but also anyone
who uses (or is responsible for) computers or websites in their work, education, activism or
personal use.
Note that Open Source is not just a matter for "techies". It is a matter of strategic, economic
and political interest to all nonprofit and for-profit organizations; anyone who has a website; and
ethical computer users in general.
For those who are technically inclined and are seeking ethical, meaningful work, there
is plenty of opportunity.
But there is also opportunity for managers, writers, promoters, activists, business people, students...
