From: To: ; Subject: Peace Circle: Sunday, May 4 at Newman Center on Elmwood Date: Saturday, April 12, 2003 9:47 AM PEACE CIRCLE Dear Friends: We invite you to attend a Peace Circle with Greg Lynn Weaver, President and Founder of PeaceWeavers, Inc., a nonprofit educational organization dedicated to fostering greater health and well-being for individuals, families and communities worldwide. Since its inception during the Gulf War in 1991, the PeaceWeavers have facilitated Circles with thousands of people of all ages, sponsored annual Kids Peace Camp, and offered Healing Retreats at the Thunder Mountain Center in Bath, NY. The Circle is a simple process of quieting and relaxing together, acknowledging the circle of life, singing, drumming, and passing a talking stick. Rooted in Native American tradition, Circle creates a transformative environment where people can speak their hearts, hear each other, and deepen their understanding of self and others. We wish to bring together some of the voices of peace in Buffalo, and send prayers for peace out into the world. The Peace Circle will be 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, 4 May 2003, at the Newman Center, 1291 Elmwood Avenue in Buffalo, New York (across from Buffalo State). You are welcome to bring drums and rattles and also a cushion to sit on. Donations gratefully accepted. Your contributions help support Circle and other peace initiatives.
