The People of Iraq Sent: Friday, February 14, 2003 12:20 AM Subject: To the People of Iraq To our brothers and sisters, Please know that we do not wish harm to any of you, and we ask forgiveness from you for what has happened because of our government's policy toward you. We are trying every day to pressure the U.S. government to seek peace and justice, not violence. We speak to the same God with different voices. We are praying for you. Jeanne E. The Children of Iraq Sent: Thursday, February 13, 2003 10:54 AM Subject: To the children of Iraq I am a teacher in a Catholic school in Dallas, Texas. I am sitting in my classroom, looking at my children - they are well fed and clothed. I think of the contrast between them and the photos I see of Iraqi children. When I talk to them about the US sponsored plans for war, they agree with me that we, as religious people, have to reject the violence and killing. The children understand what the adults don't. They are still young enough to feel sympathy for the children of other countries. They send you their love; I send you my request for your forgiveness. This Saturday, I will be marching for peace - I only wish I could do more. John McKendrick |

The People of Iraq Sent: Monday, February 03, 2003 7:57 PM Subject: The People of Iraq Some people around the world think that the United States doesn't care--that we are just a bully. Please know that the actions of our government do not reflect the thoughts and feelings of all American citizens. People are people everywhere. We all love, work, dream, and want what's best for our children. That's why I keep saying prayers to my Higher Power that President Bush will rethink his plans against Iraq. I know that such actions would be devastating for people in your country. While our two governments do battle, the souls of people in both of our countries are in anguish. The People of Iraq Sent: Monday, February 03, 2003 7:57 PM Subject: My message To all the people of Iraq, It is my greatest hope that you will be safe and secure in the days and months to come. Please know that many hundreds of thousands of Americans and Europeans are telling their governments that they do not want a war on Iraq. We are working in the best ways we know to stop our government officials from carrying out further harmful actions on you. We will continue this struggle until war on Iraq is prevented or stopped, the sanctions ended and until you as a population are provided with the resources you need to rebuild your lives, health and future. I hope you will see the American people as potential partners with you in making a safer, healthier planet for your families and for all living beings. May we all live to see and enjoy a world free from war, a world of peace and health for all. With love and solidarity, Donna McIvor Joss |

Subject: All I Can Do or Say Now
To The People of Iraq, I cannot ever begin to make up for or to atone for the losses you have suffered from my Nation's behavior, in my name, while I looked the other way. I can and do, however, commit to raise my voice in opposition and to invest my greatest energies and heartfelt love in efforts to inspire others to find their own voices and work with me; and to continue to do so with all the strength and courage I can find within me, until we start to redirect our Nation's heart and actions to caring and loving ends for all. Before my God, who loves us all and inspires my own for you, you have my word on this. With all the love in my heart, Jim James O'Connor Whitlock Bitsy's Dad Buffalo, NY 14214
